Refund Policies For Programs If you notify HOL in writing of your decision to leave the program within five days after placing a deposit, and classes have not begun, you will receive a full refund.
If you subsequently notify HOL in writing of your intent before the beginning of class, you will receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee or 5% of tuition, whichever is less. Thereafter:

For Seminars - Neonatal Resuscitation or DONA Payment for workshops (less $25 processing fee) are refundable with written notice of cancellation up to 2 weeks prior to scheduled class. No refunds are issued after that point. Financial Aid HOL offers several work-study positions and a monthly payment plan. Partial scholarships are available to full time Traditional Midwifery students with financial need. Low income VT residents are eligible for a VSAC grant which will pay up to $650 a semester. Staff is available to help counsel students on how to creatively finance their education. MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN All programs that run for at least one full semester are eligible for the payment plan. Full-time Traditional Midwifery students payment plan starts in August of each year. First year Midwifery students payments run August-April for the fall & spring semesters. All other programs’ payment plans are determined by the length of the program.The first payment is due at the first class unless you register for the early payment plan, then your first payment is due one month prior to the first class. All payments are due the 1st of the month. Administrative fee for this plan is $50/ semester. There is a $25 late fee if payment is not received on time. ATTENDANCE Students are required to attend all classes. If attendance falls below 80%, students will receive a non- passing grade unless special arrangements have been made with the instructor. It is the student’s responsibility to make up all missed work. TARDINESS Students are expected to attend class on time. Students who are tardy three times are marked absent. INCOMPLETE An incomplete will be given when a student is not able to complete all requirements by the end of the course because of extenuating circumstance. A student must fill out an incomplete form, including a deadline for planned completion and instructor’s signature prior to the last class. Students who do not complete this form will be given a non-passing grade.
GRIEVANCE POLICY All students at HOL have the right to have any complaints heard in an appropriate forum as quickly as possible. A student is first directed to the party with whom the complaint is held. If no resolution is achieved in this manner, the student should next direct her or his grievance to the Director. If necessary, a grievance committee is convened. Additional information about the HOL grievance procedure is published in the HOL Student Handbook. Student who feel that their grievance has not been satisfactorily resolved may contact the Massachusetts Department of Education, 350 Main Street, Malden, MA 02148, (781)338-3000. Child Care Nursing babies over 4 months old and young children are not allowed in class. Babies may be brought in to nurse at breaks. CHANGES IN POLICIES, FEES, ETC HOL reserves the right to cancel or make changes to courses, schedules, instructors, policies, or fees subject to state and federal law.
